Puddle Jumpers

As expected, the twins each have their own approach to swimming.

Connor is thoughtful and cautious. He recognizes the pool could be a bit dangerous and he's not really willing to take any risks. Sometimes you have to coax him to jump to you and most of the time he's content to play on the shallow shelf.

On the other hand Chloe dives right in, literally. You have to be in the pool right by her because she'll just jump in at any given moment. Sometimes she'll count beforehand, "one, two, three, jump!" But it's not always consistent. Sometimes we'll get a, "one, three, four, six..." and sometimes there's no warning before the jump. Needless to say, it can make it very difficult to hold on to your glass of wine.

A few weeks ago when our cousin Andrew came for a visit, part of the fun was getting to swim together. I've tried swim wing/arm bands for Chloe before with very little success. Andrew had the coolest thing, a puddle jumper. It's more than arm bands, it's connected to a smaller vest and allows kids to float and kick to swim around. Andrew walked right up to the edge of the pool and jumped in. I screamed, but he floated up and swam around.

Why didn't I know about these puddle jumpers sooner? I got online immediately and ordered two for rush delivery. We love them! Thanks to Lauren for introducing us to the puddle jumper!
