What They're Saying Now

I've been keeping track of the crazy things the kids say and have a few cute ones from past posts:

March 2012
January 2013

Since they're talking so much more now we continue to get unique sayings from the twins.

Robot Speak

Some mornings I serve breakfast as a robot. I speak in a monotone voice and move like the tin man. It gets a few laughs.

On the drive to school Chloe decided to try it out for herself. She is a hilarious robot with arm movements and everything, "I-am-a-Chl-oe-ro-bot. I-see-a-squir-rel."

Vampirate

Sometimes it's hard to say a word, like "vampire" or sometimes it sounds better if you combine it with another cool word like "pirate." So Connor refers to this sock monkey vampire as a Vampirate. We're thinking about getting the sock monkey an eye patch and hook to live up to his name.

You Come Back!?!
When I pick up the kids from school in afternoon, Connor is always excited and sometimes a little surprised to see me. He'll exclaim, "You Come Back!" Like maybe I might just leave him there. It always makes me giggle. Yes, I come back.

Another Trip to the Zoo

We have really loved our Dallas Zoo membership and gotten good use out of it. A few weekends ago it was a chilly Saturday morning, but the zoo was a great way for the kids to blow off some steam.

Although they love the zoo and seeing all the animals, Connor makes a game of climbing on the rocks. Sometimes it's a challenge to get him down to move on.

Having fun in the elephant base camp.

The folks at the zoo are smart to locate the carousel at the entrance/exit. The twins always want to ride. Now they're old enough that we can use a ride on the carousel as a reward for good behavior.

Book Exchange

A friend of mine asked me to join a book exchange. It's kind of like a chain letter. You buy one book and send it to the name provided. Then you send your letter to seven of your friends who then do the same.

Since the twins love to read I thought it was worth a shot. I figured any books we got that we already have I could give to the twin's school.

Yesterday we got our first book, Pete The Cat: I Love My White Shoes. This was a new book for us and we loved it. It has a cat, colors, and a catchy song. What's not to love?

It's only the first book so far, but based on the response in our house I think the book exchange is already a success.

It even gets Connor dancing! (click here to see the video)
