Adventures in Babysitting

This weekend we offered to babysit the girls so Brian and Jamie could celebrate his birthday. We told Connor and Chloe that we needed their help babysitting and they were excited about the idea.

It was such a lovely day we played outside for awhile. Harlowe and Rowan were happy in the playhouse.

Lola was full of energy and ran everywhere. When I left out a roll of paper towels that became a something to play with too.

When playing no one wants to stop for a picture

Dinner was a bit of a production, but we made it through even if it was a bit messy for some. The best part was getting some cuddle time.
Rowan checking out Uncle Carl's face. She bit him on the nose right after I took this picture. Babysitting can be dangerous.

I really enjoyed getting to rock some babies to sleep. But the older babies were having too much fun to settle down at bedtime.

When we headed home Connor told me babysitting was fun! It was fun, but a bit exhausting. Glad we could give Brian and Jamie a little break and have a good time with the girls ourselves.

Lola's Birthday

Last weekend we went to an awesome 3rd birthday party for our cousin Lola. It was Mad Hatter + Alice in Wonderland theme party and we all wore silly hats.

Brian and Jamie were Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum while Lola was an adorable Alice.
Lola is a little unsure about that sparkler in her cupcake
The best part of the party was spending time with family and seeing the cousins having a blast playing together.

Lola got a wand with ribbon on it and ran around trying to tickle everyone. She doesn't know her own strength so her tickles are a bit rough but she let's you know her intentions with a cute "tickle tickle!"

New Home

I really love my new job, but the one drawback is the commute. The drive is an hour each way with traffic and it's exhausting.
Because of the commute and with the twins starting kindergarten in the fall we made the difficult decision to leave our awesome neighborhood.
These cuties start kindergarten in the fall

It took about two months to declutter the house and neutralize everything.

Removed all family photos and put up neutral wall art. Easy access to cool wall art is one perk of my new job.

We had to get a storage unit for some stuff, but it was all worth it. We listed our house on a Saturday morning, had showings over the weekend with multiple offers by mid day Monday.

We close in a few weeks and we were thrilled it sold so quickly.

Part of our house selling so quickly was the nature of the market. Next we were on the other side and had to act fast.

We hunted in Richardson based on a locations serving specific schools. It was tough, because we didn't fall in love with anything. When there was one we thought would work it was sold before we put in an offer.

Carl scoured all the listing sites and watch for everything that came on the market. We considered a new build, but were concerned about how long we'd have to wait for the building to be complete.

On Wednesday, right before the snow/ice storm we looked at house that fit our needs.
It had all the space we needed, was in good school district and was a little over 20 minutes from my work and 20 minutes from my Mom. The address is Dallas, but the school district is Plano. We acted quickly and made an offer. The seller had one other offer but accepted ours.
While the kids played in the snow, we bid on a new home

We move at the end of April.

What a crazy whirlwind in just two weeks!
