Still Got Love for the Puppies

Connor and Chloe have always loved our dogs and we've tried to teach them to be gentle with Leo. I've been pleasantly surprised with how gentle Leo is with the twins in return, but sometimes he just wants to play and the kids love it. I feel bad that Leo doesn't have another puppy friend to play with and that we won't let him play with any of the kids toys. It's especially confusing for him when the twins sick a stuffed animal in his mouth but then Carl or I yell "drop it!" at him when he starts to shake it.

A few weeks ago Maria took a few days off. The only reason I mention Maria not being here is that she would never allow what I let the kids do. Leo really wanted to play so I tied a rope around one of his rope dog toys and let the kids drag it around while he chased it.

Even though it burned off energy for the twins and Leo it wasn't a safe toy and I had to take it away after Connor wrapped it around his neck two different times. Then everyone was bummed at me for ruining their fun.

On another day Leo got ahold of one of their music sticks and started running around the house with it. Connor and Chloe thought it looked like so much fun they needed to put sticks in their mouths too.

Aunt Jamie and Uncle Brian have a sweet, black Lab named Saddie. She's come to visit a couple of times and the kids love her too. She's a little bigger than Leo so Connor gets hit the face with her tail when he tries to pet her. Chloe loves her and tries to give her hugs.

The last time Sadie visited, Chloe wanted to pet her paws. Sadie wasn't really into it, but she just curled her paws under until Chloe lost interest. Sweet Sadie!

I'm glad the kids love dogs and I hope we can keep working on how to be gentle and considerate around animals in general.

Love to Read

The twins really like to read and have a few favorite books. Chloe will pick up a book and start chattering in an animated way as if she were reading.

The other day they pulled the "How Things Work" book from our book shelf so Carl indulged them and read about how elevators work. I think Connor may be able to fix elevators now, if needed.

Lunch with GiGi & KiKi

Lunch yesterday was a hit. Everyone had a good time and I don't think we disturbed the rest of the restaurant too much. Expect maybe when we kept taking pictures with our iphones.

My favorite is where it looks like Connor and KiKi are having a conversation. Very animated!

Mommy Time

Maria took some time off yesterday and today so I have the twins to myself. We've had a great time. We didn't do anything out of the ordinary, but really enjoyed our morning trip to the park.

Everyone has curls, some are just curlier than others

Today I might try taking them out to lunch to meet my Mom (GiGi) and my Aunt (KiKi). It takes a little more planning than a regular day but should be fun. We'll see how it goes.

Summer Games

I'm sorry it's been awhile since I've posted. We extended our 4th of July weekend into a week and drove to Louisiana to visit with Carl's family.

There were lots of fun activities for the twins including swimming almost every day. They saw so many cousins and loved playing with all of them. One afternoon Carl and Zane played a game of badminton and Connor had to get right in there with the big boys!

Playground Slide

It used to be the swings were the favorite, but now we're fans of the slide. Yes we have to carefully crawl up the ramp causing bruises on our knees and shins, but it's worth it for the freedom in the playhouse up top and the exhilaration of sailing down the slide.

I was playing with an iphone photo app so there's quite a few pictures from the fun on the slide.
